What does Fair Loudness do?
Fair Loudness matches playback level when comparing versions. It reduces the louder version without changing the source file.
Turn on Fair Loudness to compare versions at a matched playback level using their measured loudness. The control is available in the engineer’s player and on the client review page.
A level difference can influence a quick comparison. Matching levels helps you assess changes to tone and dynamics, but does not decide which version is better.
Fair Loudness uses attenuation: it reduces the louder version rather than boosting the quieter one. It does not alter the stored file. The free A/B tool offers a comparison without an account.
