Does Soneam show my master’s ISRC, tags and artwork?

Yes. The title, artist, ISRC and other tags written into the file are listed for you and your client, and embedded artwork can become the project cover.

Updated 2026-11-05

Yes. When you upload a master, Soneam reads the tags written into the file and lists them under Tags in the file. Your client sees the same list on the review page.

Where the tags are shown

On your project page and on the review page, they are inside Mastering metrics, below the player. On a phone, your client finds them in Details. Each version lists its own tags, and the list changes when you switch versions.

What is read

Title, artist, album, album artist, track number, date, genre, ISRC, composer and copyright, plus the size and format of any embedded artwork. Only the fields the file carries are listed.

Tags are read from ID3 and RIFF INFO in WAV files, ID3 in AIFF and MP3, Vorbis comments in FLAC, and the tags in M4A. The values are shown as written. Soneam does not correct them or check that an ISRC is valid.

RIFF INFO does not say which character set its text uses. If a value with accented or Japanese characters could be read two ways, Soneam leaves it out rather than show a wrong name. ID3, FLAC and M4A tags record their character set, so they are read as written.

Artwork as the project cover

If a project has no cover when you upload a master with embedded artwork, that artwork becomes the project cover, on your pages and on your client’s. A cover you uploaded is never replaced. If you remove the cover, later uploads do not add one back. You can change or remove it in the project settings like any other cover.

Masters uploaded earlier

Tags are read when a master is uploaded. Masters uploaded before November 5, 2026 may not list their tags yet.

Your file is not changed

Soneam only reads the tags. The file your client downloads is the file you uploaded, with the same SHA-256.
